As you can see we have a theme going on in the Weald EVT stable.
Sinnis Electric Stealth and its big brother, the EV Drag Race record holder... come along to the Haslemere Fire Station FREE motorcycle show on 18th September to see them in the flesh.
Other than connecting up the intermediate drive the bike's complete and working.
Been busy playing with batteries, battery housings, making up the HV cabling, and mounting the motor. I also had the intermediate shaft made up, and collected the instruments and remaining parts from Sinnis to get the bike ready for the road. I also bought another dummy petrol tank from Replicast (it's and Aprilia BBR tank) and painted it. Vinyl "Electric Stealth" logo's were ordered from Nick at Demonskinz in Crowborough.
It took a while but I managed to integrate the motor controls into the standard wiring loom so that everything works exactly as it would on the standard Sinnis Stealth - no need for extra switches or interlocks. I'm very pleased with that, it makes for a professional installation.
I'm taking the bike to the Haslemere Fire Station "Right to Ride" show in mid-September so I'm aiming to have it complete by then.

Thought I'd try the dummy tank from the Drag Race project on the Sinnis, and to my amazement it's an almost perfect fit. The orange paint I use (VW Brilliant Orange) is a great match to the Sinnis orange too. I reckon it makes a pretty little bike. Looking forward to getting it on the road.
Here are the motor mount plates made from water-jet cut aluminium - very nice. Great price and fast turnaround too, from a little engineering shop in Crowborough.
With the limits on battery space i'm going to have to drop the motor lower down. Unfortunately I can't then get a straight chain run from the motor to the back wheel so I'll need an intermediate shaft to take the drive, which will add some cost to it. I also got the throttle, contactor, shunt, fuses etc from Steve at Jozztek.
First thing to do is get rid of the engine, petrol tank, exhaust etc...
... and then try out a few ideas for motor and battery mounting...
Popped over to the Sinnis warehouse to take a few pictures of the donor bike, then loaded it up to take it back to the workshop for conversion...

I've been working with Sinnis motorcycles recently (www.sinnismotorcycles.co.uk) to convert one of their Stealth 125 bikes to electric power. We're going to use it for a small race series or as a road conversion. As the development progresses I'll decide what's best, but for now take a look at some of the conversion pictures.
